Agriculture Sustainability Initiatives
Neumiller Farms is a member of the Potato Sustainability Alliance (PSA), which consists of growers, supply chain partners, non-profit organizations and advisors working together to improve the economic, environmental and social aspects of potato production in the United States and Canada.
In conjunction with our partners, we support the identification and adoption of sustainable production practices and meet consumer and market expectations by benchmarking the farm level sustainability performance of potato production. We communicate potato sustainability throughout the value chain by supporting consumer-facing businesses as they tell the story of potato sustainability, all while unifying a broad range of outcome improvement initiatives under a resource-positive approach.

Modern Farm Technology
At Neumiller Farms, we are committed to sustainable agriculture and innovative farming practices that ensure the health of our land and the quality of our crops for generations to come. Our approach integrates advanced technology and eco-friendly methods to create a balanced and efficient farming operation.
This starts with proactive monitoring of our fields. Utilizing crop scouts, petiole samples, and soil samples, we identify pest issues and nutrient needs with precision. This information is complemented by drone technology, which provides aerial insights that help us make informed decisions to enhance crop health and yield.
To further optimize our operations, we employ cutting-edge autoguidance GPS on our tractors along with variable rate sprayers and irrigation systems. This technology minimizes resource waste, ensuring that each crop receives exactly what it needs, when it needs it.
Our crop rotation strategy includes potatoes, soybeans, green beans, field corn, and sweet corn. We design this rotation to enhance soil fertility and reduce pest pressures. Additionally, using cover crops helps maintain soil health, prevent erosion, and foster biodiversity on our farm.
We believe that innovative practices and sustainable methods go hand in hand to cultivate a thriving environment for future generations. Join us on our journey towards responsible farming that nourishes both our community and our planet for generations to come.

Investing in Illinois Communities and Beyond
We value the network we’ve built in the midwest, which is why giving back to our communities is a priority for us. As a large-scale supplier, we strive to make regular donations to local food banks and churches in need.
We’ve hosted numerous tours of our farm locations for local schools and clubs to receive a firsthand look at our processes and technology. We’ve been a leader in the agriculture industry for decades and enjoy sharing our knowledge with the next generation.

History of Neumiller Farms
Our family’s connection to potatoes spans generations—rooted in Europe, carried through Wisconsin, and ultimately planted here in Illinois. Continuing that legacy, Fred Neumiller and his son, Tom, jointly built the foundation of our farm over 70 years ago. Their vision led to the purchase of land in Hanover, Illinois in 1974, chosen for its exceptional soil and strategic location. In 1979, they moved the farm’s headquarters to Savanna, Illinois along the Mississippi River. Today, the operation extends into Cordova, Erie and Bath, Illinois.
We remain a family-run farm with employees who have been with us for over 45 years. Our roots inspire us to give back to our local communities and invest in sustainable agriculture. Building on our long-standing reputation in the farming community, we continue to grow our farm to ensure long-term success and preservation for generations to come.
